Seeing me out and about in some sort of African-print outfit is a common occurrence. And, lately, I’ve been getting stopped on the street a lot by people wondering where they can shop similar African-inspired fashion on their own.
Well, in addition to relying on pop-up shops around NYC, there are a couple great websites I go to that I thought I’d let all of you in on. Here are my top 3 websites to shop African-inspired fashion:
Zuvaa is my number one site to shop hundreds of African-inspired designs from great emerging designers all around the world. The selection is seriously awesome, the prices are reasonable and the customer service is great.
On Etsy, simply type in a search term like “African Print Maxidress” or “African print skirt” and you’re presented hundreds, if not thousands of beautiful and often very affordable handmade options.
You’d be surprised how many designers I discover on Instagram simply by looking up hashtags like #africanprints or #ankara. And most designers have a link for you to shop directly from their profiles. Some of my favorite African-inspired designers on the gram include @Midget_Giraffe, @Grass_Fields and @Dpipertwins.
