On my vision board last year, there was a section dedicated to my career. In that section I posted a quote that read:
The statement represented my desire to merge my marketing and PR expertise with a full-time role at a brand that empowered women through beauty and/or fashion. At the time I was working as a brand marketing manager for the world’s top automotive brand, a world away from beauty. Fast forward a year later though, I’m now a Sr. Marketing Manager at Teen Vogue.
Transitioning my career from auto to a more senior level role in the beauty industry was no easy feat. But it’s possible with the right steps.
Next week, I’m humbled to be able to share more about my journey into the beauty space at two different events in the NYC area:
First up, on Wednesday, April 20, I’m gathering some of NYC’s best and brightest women of color in the beauty industry for networking and conversations all about careers in the beauty industry at ColorComm’s “Breaking Into The Beauty Industry” Spring Spree. And you’re welcome to join me. More details are in the flyer below and tickets are available here. Then, on Saturday, April 23, I’m excited to be featured by the women’s brunch series “Brunch With Brandee” where I’ll talk to a more intimate group of women about career transitions, personal branding and more over omelets and mimosas! The flyer is below and you can snag your ticket for the ultimate girls brunch here.
I hope to see you at one, or both! Let me know if you can join me.
