If you follow me on Instagram, you know that earlier this week I arrived in sunny Southern California to visit my hometown of L.A. I haven’t been home or seen my family in almost nine months, so I’m excited to be writing this post from my old room in my childhood home, listening to parents snore in the next room. lol.
This trip home is a little different because my friend Marielle from London is here visiting with me as well. She lives in NYC now, where we met, but she’d never been to LA before. It’s quite fun to have a first-time visitor here with me because I get to do the touristy things I would never do if I were here on my own.
The other day, we rented beach cruisers at Venice Beach and biked up to the Santa Monica Pier. It was a lovely day for a nice ride up the coast. Warm and sunny with a nice coastal breeze. I wanted to wear something loose and light for the ride, so I threw on these harem pants I picked up during my trip to Morocco a couple months back, the same time I bought these.
Since I’m all of about 5 feet tall, I have the luxury of wearing them lower around the waist (as ‘genie pants’ as I like to call them) along with a top, or hiking them up for a full body jumper look as I did here.
