For all intents and purposes, I’m a petite little thing. I stand all of 5 feet tall without heels and hair. At the same time though, the good lord blessed me with curves in the right places (read: baby got back). This makes shopping off the racks interesting, to say the least, especially when it comes to pants, skirts and dresses.
So imagine my delight when I came across an online shop that lets you customize your clothes to your unique body measurements and style preferences, without breaking the bank. eShakti – an online shopping destination that believes that all women have the right to wear affordable fashion that is made for them and makes them look their absolute best – recently invited me to try out their custom clothing services for myself.
After browsing their site, I settled on this teal green skirt. But what you see here is kind of a creation all my own. Here’s how it works. After deciding on my selected item, I took my own measurements (such as waist, hips, waist to knee length, etc.) with a regular old clothing tape measure. My skirt would be made to the measurements I input on online, but the customization didn’t stop there. This skirt was initially floor length. I have a thing for pleated below the knee skirts though (remember this look and this one), so I decided to completely change the length as well. eShakti lets you make any number of customizations, from shortening length, removing pockets, changing necklines and more.
I couldn’t be happier with my custom skirt. I paired it with this top I picked up from a thrift store years ago (which I also customized a bit by switching out the buttons on the shoulders) and colorful sandals that I got at a random boutique in LA ages ago.
eShakti was kind enough to let all of you in on the custom fun too, with a special coupon code for 10% off for you! Simply enter “CurlzAndTheCity” at checkout now through May 27, 2015.* And for a limited time you can combine the code with a $40 off discount they’re already offering new customers on their site. Score!
Big thanks to my sis @MrsChrish for snapping these pics for me.
