If you’re a regular on the blog, then you know I love a good thrifted or consigned fashion find. I’ve found everything from genuine leather jackets to unique printed pieces to amazing dresses and vintage gems at thrift, consignment and vintage stores around New York City.
I really wouldn’t call myself a trendy fashionista. I wear what I like, how I like and relish in standing out and being different when it comes to my style. And I think second hand shops are one of the best ways to achieve this since you can find such one-of-a-kind pieces.
I must admit that my favorite place to thrift is a certain shop in my home town of L.A., which I hit up every time I go home for a visit. I find the prices much more reasonable than in New York. But since I spend most of my time in the Big Apple, here are some of my favorite second hand shops in NYC:
Chelsea Goodwill – 103 West 25th Street, New York
Greenwich Village Goodwill – 44 West 8th Street, New York
Housing Works (all over the city, but the one in the Financial District at 119 Chambers Street, New York may be my recommend)
Beacon’s Closet Park Slope – 92 5th Avenue, Brooklyn
Beacons Closet Union Square – 10 West 12th Street, New York
Columbia U Consignment – 52 Tiemann Place, New York
Buffalo Exchange East Village – 332 East 11th Street, New York
Jewel’s Vintage Closet – online and much bigger selection at her boutique in Brooklyn by appointment only
