I’ve been in a bit of fitness rut lately. Working out 3-4 times a week is something I know I should be doing, but the past several weeks it’s been so very hard to find the motivation. So in hopes of getting my mojo back, I’ve been trying to switch things up a bit.
First things first. I need to look the part. So I completely re-hauled my gym bag.
I picked up a couple new Danskin dry fit outfits and a new pair of sneaks, which were all very affordable coming in at around $50 for this whole look!
Hydrating while working out is key, so I threw in a new insulated water bottle that keeps my water well-chilled for 24 hours or more, but doesn’t condensate or leak in my bag.
I also found a new long-wear deodorant in Degree Dry Spray that I’m loving. It eliminates the dreadful white underarm residue while working out, and it keeps me fresh and dry.
Next up, I need to rejuvenate my routine. I never use my gym membership, since I prefer classes, working out outdoors or some sort of guided workout. So, I’m cancelling it. Seems counter-intuitive if I’m trying to work out more, I know. But doing something I hate is not going to motivate me to get my behind moving.
Instead I’m funneling that money towards workouts I’ll actually enjoy. YouTube has a bunch of great workout channels you can turn to for everything from circuit training to yoga, right in the comfort of your own living room and for FREE. I’ve also been taking fun dance classes like Kukuwa African dance or Latin dance at Alvin Ailey studios. And I’m dabbling in community or donation-based classes at local yoga studios in my neighborhood, which are great because these once a week classes often cost a fraction of the price of the more expensive general classes.
