Great fashion finds can come from anywhere. And I’m a firm believer that they don’t have to cost you an arm and leg to be staple pieces in your closet. Take this dress for example.
I was at this random strip mall in LA one day a few years ago, when I saw a print through the window of this cheap little boutique that caught my eye. This dress was all of about $25, but I get tons of compliments every time I wear it—a sign that it’s not the price tag that makes the dress, it’s the lady wearing it.
I had fun accessorizing it with random pieces I picked up everywhere from Verona, Italy to Fez, Morocco and even my local thrift store.
The stone necklace I paired it with is one of my favs. My coworker, Juliet, who also happens to be quite stylish in her own right, owns a little jewelry boutique called Jules Jewlz. After drooling over the statement necklaces she wears on the daily, I finally headed over to check out some of her pieces. I have about four necklaces from her and every time I wear one it’s a guaranteed conversation starter.
