July 3, 2011…the start of something great. It was the day I stepped off a plane at JFK ready to call New York City my new home.
Over the past three years since then, my life has blossomed in ways I never expected. I’ve really come into my own as a New Yorker, developing this unexplainable love for all things Big City. I thrive off of the hustle and bustle. I’m a master of the subway system. The culture of this great metropolis runs deep in my veins. And I’ve met some pretty amazing people along the way.
On top of that, this great city has inspired me to explore my personal style in ways I never felt compelled to in other places. New York is the fashion capital of the U.S., but despite the runways and the models, the city has a way of rousing you to create a signature style all your own–to embrace what you like, to buck the trends if they don’t speak to you, and to express your unique artistry through not only what you wear, but how you wear it.
So I decided to start CurlZ And The City, a blog that chronicles all these things — one curly girl’s personal style and everyday adventures in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of.
